Sharing cafe

The Sharing Café project promotes the inclusion and functional capacity of immigrant women who are currently outside the labor market and face challenges in accessing employment. The project particularly targets women who have migrated to Finland primarily from African and Middle Eastern countries.

The project aims to strengthen participants’ personal resources to support their ability to participate in society, maintain their well-being, and take steps toward employment or formal education. The project also seeks to promote understanding and involvement among the women’s spouses.

Sharing Café develops and enhances services aimed at immigrant women, provided by non-governmental organizations and other actors, while also strengthening collaboration and partnerships across sectors.

Throughout the project, a comprehensive model will be developed and documented to promote the social participation of immigrant women. The model will consist of both closed and open group activities, peer instructor training, networking events, individual counselling, group activities for spouses, and support for entering the workforce or beginning studies.
