Guidance Generalia lectures give you information and tips to support you in planning and boosting your study and career path in Finland. The lectures are open to everybody.

The Guidance Generalia are provided by Metropolia SIMHE services. SIMHE services are specialised in higher education and international professionals and talents in the Finnish labour market.

Topics and themes

In Guidance Generalia lectures, you will get information and tips on e.g.

  • Finnish education system and Finnish higher education system in particular
  • your options to study in Finland
  • application process for higher education
  • planning your studies
  • planning your career.

The topics vary in each lecture. You can also suggest a topic for future sessions by sending an e-mail to simhe [at]

Practicalities and instructions

  • Enrolment: enrol in advance via the enrolment link of the lecture in question
  • Duration: 1-2h
  • Language: Finnish or English
  • Mode: currently only online lectures, the link will be sent to registered participants
  • Cost: free of charge for you
  • Speakers: SIMHE Career Coaches specialised in the topics, sometimes also visiting speakers
  • Materials: the sessions are not recorded, but registered participants will receive the presentation material by e-mail
