Breastfeeding guidance
You can attend breastfeeding guidance if you are pregnant or have recently given birth and want information or support related to breastfeeding. The service is free of charge.

During the appointment, you receive individual guidance and support for breastfeeding and getting started with it. The visit includes verbal counselling and, when needed, observation of breastfeeding. The goal is to increase your knowledge and strengthen your confidence in breastfeeding.
Midwifery and public health nursing students provide the guidance under the supervision of a qualified instructor at Metropolia’s Myllypuro Campus. Students have completed the theoretical studies required for WHO breastfeeding counselling and have practiced breastfeeding support during their clinical placements.
Appointments are offered weekly, and each session lasts about 45 minutes.
