At the HyMy Village laboratory, you can schedule your tests at a time that suits you best. No doctor's referral is required. You can book an appointment for the laboratory tests of your choice or select one of our ready-made testing packages.

Our selection includes tests related to general health, blood values, vitamins, iron metabolism, hormonal function, and exercise performance. If you cannot find the test you are looking for, please contact HyMy Village customer service.
Our laboratory is staffed by bioanalyst students working under the supervision of healthcare professionals. All tests are carried out carefully, safely, and to a high standard of quality. All our services are supervised by teachers who are healthcare professionals. By using our services, you also support the practical training and learning of future healthcare professionals.
Please note that clients are responsible for knowing which tests they wish to have performed. Students cannot provide guidance on selecting tests or recommend which tests may be appropriate for you.
Laboratory services launching at HyMy Village! Opening offer available
When was the last time you checked your blood values? No need to worry—you can now do so easily and without a referral at HyMy Village’s laboratory services. The new laboratory services at HyMy Village open on August 18 at the Myllypuro Campus. You can choose from individual tests or pre-set testing packages tailored to your specific needs.
As an opening offer, the Health Check package is available at a 15% discount throughout August. This package provides a comprehensive overview of your body's well-being and includes key tests. The discount cannot be combined with other offers, and the appointment must take place between August 18 and August 31.

You will receive your test results quickly and securely through the electronic OmaKanta service.
Please note that our laboratory service does not include a medical evaluation of the results. If your results fall outside the reference ranges or you would like a more detailed interpretation please book a doctor´s appointment.
Laboratory tests are available by appointment. A doctor’s referral is not required, but you are also welcome to attend with a referral if you have one.
You can book an appointment through our online booking system or by calling our customer service. After making a reservation, you will receive a confirmation text message along with instructions on how to prepare for your appointment and arrival at the laboratory.

HyMy Village package
This compact laboratory testing package includes the most important basic tests for assessing your overall health. It is ideal for anyone who wants a quick and affordable overview of key blood values and essential bodily functions.

The examination requires fasting. You should not eat for 10–12 hours before the blood test. You can have water during the fast.
Health check package
This comprehensive laboratory testing package provides an overview of your overall wellbeing. It is suitable for you if you want a full picture of your health status or, for example, to monitor the effects of lifestyle changes.

Energy and wellbeing
This package is designed for you if you want to investigate the underlying causes of fatigue, reduced stamina, or low energy levels. The tests examine blood count, iron stores, vitamin B12, thyroid function, and vitamin D levels.
Package includes: B‑PVK + T, S‑Ferrit, S‑B12‑TC2, S‑TSH and S‑D‑25.
The examination does not require fasting. The blood sample should be taken between 7am and 16 pm. If you take high doses of biotin (more than 5 mg/day), stop taking the biotin supplement 8 hours before the sample is collected, as biotin can affect the test results.
Women’s wellbeing package
This package provides important tests for assessing a woman’s overall wellbeing. It examines blood count, iron stores, thyroid function, and vitamin D and vitamin B12 levels.
Package includes: PVK + T, Ferrit, TSH, D‑25 and B12‑TC2.
The examination does not require fasting. The blood sample should be taken between 7am and 16 pm. If you take high doses of biotin (more than 5 mg/day), stop taking the biotin supplement 8 hours before the sample is collected, as biotin can affect the test results.

Men’s hormone package
This package is a concise set of tests for assessing male hormonal function and prostate health. It is suitable for you if you want to check testosterone levels, thyroid function, and PSA levels as part of your health monitoring.
Package includes: Testo‑VL, TSH and PSA.
The examination does not require fasting.The blood sample should be taken between 7am and 12pm. If you are taking thyroxine medication, the sample should be collected in the morning before taking the medication. You must stop using products containing biotin (vitamin B7) and multivitamin supplements at least one day before the sample collection.
Women’s hormone package
This package provides a comprehensive overview of a woman’s hormonal balance and the factors influencing it. The tests measure thyroid function, hormones related to the menstrual cycle, as well as estrogen and prolactin levels.
Package includes: S‑TSH, S‑T4‑V, S‑FSH, S‑LH, S‑E2 and S‑PRL.
The examination does not require fasting. The blood sample should be taken between 10am and 2pm.If you are taking thyroxine medication, the sample should be collected in the morning before taking the medication. You must stop using products containing biotin (vitamin B7) and multivitamin supplements at least one day before the sample collection.
Vitamin package
This test package assesses your body’s levels of three key vitamins and iron, giving you a clear overall picture of your vitamin and iron balance.

The examination requires fasting. You should not eat for 10–12 hours before the blood test. You can have water during the fast.
How to prepare to your appointment
By following these instructions, you can prepare properly for your laboratory tests and help ensure reliable results:
- Avoid strenuous physical exercise for approximately 24 hours before sample collection.
- Do not consume coffee, tea, vitamins, alcohol, tobacco products, or temporarily used medications after 10:00 p.m. on the evening before your appointment.
- Please fast for 10–12 hours before sample collection. During the fasting period, do not eat, drink anything other than water, or smoke. On the morning of the test, you may drink a glass of water.
- You may take your regular morning medications unless otherwise instructed by your treating physician. Please note: If your test request includes S-T4-V (Free Thyroxine), you should not take your thyroxine medication before the sample is collected. For therapeutic drug monitoring, the blood sample should be taken before taking the medication.
- You should be awake for at least one hour before sample collection. Please allow time to sit and rest for 15 minutes before the procedure to help stabilize your circulation.
- Hormone levels can vary depending on the time of day. Therefore, hormone tests other than thyroid function tests should generally be performed in the morning unless you have been instructed otherwise.

Good to know
- In HyMy-Village you are a client in a learning situation where our students practice, under the supervision of teachers, in addition to their professional skills, e.g. people-centered interaction with clients.
- The research and rehabilitation plan made for you by our students is always checked and approved by the supervising teachers.
- During your visit, in addition to the corresponding student, his or her student colleagues may be involved in observing the situation.
- If you look younger than 13 years old, we will check your age, as under the age of 13 requires parental consent to participate in the activity.
Our goal is to provide you expert, flexible and personalized service without haste. Your feedback is important to us for the development of our operations and services.
The City of Helsinki organises the Social and Patient Ombudspersons' services for public and private health and social services.
Social and Patient Ombudsperson:
- Advises and guides in matters related to the application of the Act on the Status and Rights of Social Welfare Clients, the Act on the Status and Rights of Patient and the Act on Early Childhood Education and Care.
- Advises and, if necessary, assists the client, patient, or their legal representative in filing an objection.
- Advises on the proper procedures and authorities for raising objections, filing complaints, handling patient injury matters, and claiming for damages, among other matters related to the patient's and client's legal rights in healthcare, social welfare, or early childhood education services.
- Informs about the rights of clients and patients.
- Gathers information about the contacts made by clients and patients and monitors the development of the rights and status of clients and patients.
- Promotes the rights of clients and patients in other ways.
Metropolia has a health insurance for patient injuries covered by the Patient Injury Act. Metropolia also has a general liability insurance for damages taking place in education. The terms and conditions of the liability insurance can be seen in HyMy Village.
