Welcome to the Open Path Studies towards Industrial Management Master's Degree!
First day programme and notes
The assumption for this note is that the classes can be given as normal contact teaching with possible hybrid (contact/online) implementations. Please check the latest situation from this page as changes may take place. In case it is not possible to have contact sessions you will receive information on the arrangements for Teams or Zoom sessions.
The opening day will take place on Thursday 7th September 2023 at 9:00 – 13:30 at Metropolia Karamalmi campus.
The studies will also start the same week.
It is highly recommended for all to come to hear introductions, tour buildings and facilities etc. During the first day you will get instructions on how to activate your computer account, which is vital to get access to learning materials etc., and to make communication possible.
Activating your user account
In order to be able to use Metropolia’s it services (email, OMA…) you have to activate your account. The primary procedure of activation is based on a Finnish netbank user ID and its identification process. If you don’t have these, please contact me by email and I will deliver the details of your account on paper.

Schedule
Autumn
Overall expectation is that Open Path studies are synchronized with the Degree Programme and that the students follow the same schedule and pace. The autumn term for open path students includes 3 courses (15 credits).
If you would be interested in completing additional courses on the autumn term that were not initially included in the path studies, please contact the degree program head, contact info below.
The open path studies will be conducted with the students accepted to the program via other routes (including Degree Program students).
After completing open path studies, students have the possibility to apply to become Degree Program students. Please see more information on Application on the Basis of Metropolia’s Open UAS Studies (the application period starts late autumn).
Students are responsible to make sure that they fulfill the requirements when applying.
The autumn term includes studies for 3,5 months.
Each Friday 9-4 pm and Saturday 9-4 pm

If you are not familiar with financial aspects of business, it is recommended that you will review for example Accounts Demystified by Anthony Rice, or similar concerning financial accounting in advance.

After you are admitted the contact point for official matters is the student services (studentservices [at] metropolia.fi (studentservices[at]metropolia[dot]fi)).
Normally the study programme / teachers can’t help in official matters. Please be careful with deadlines and all the instructions you get, in the summertime special arrangements are not likely to be done.
