The HyMy Village motion laboratory has launched a new fitness testing service, and we are celebrating with a special opening offer: Direct maximal oxygen uptake test (VO₂max) now €199 (regular price €250).
The offer is valid for test appointments between 13 July and 14 August 2026.
The offer cannot be combined with other discounts or benefits.
Direct maximal oxygen uptake (VO₂max) test
The direct maximal oxygen uptake (VO₂max) test is a comprehensive and accurate method for assessing aerobic fitness. The test measures oxygen uptake capacity up to maximal exertion. It is suitable for both competitive athletes and exercisers who want to better understand their performance, training, and progress. The test can be performed either on a treadmill or a cycle ergometer.
During the test, a COSMED CPET metabolic gas analyzer is used to measure lung function and metabolic responses both at rest and during exercise. These measurements provide precise, individualized information about how your body responds to physical stress.
The results offer valuable support for training planning and performance development. You will receive a comprehensive overview of your current endurance fitness and areas for improvement. After the test, you will receive a detailed report including:
- Aerobic threshold
- Anaerobic threshold
- Maximal oxygen uptake (VO₂max)
The test price also includes a body composition assessment.
How to prepare for the test?
The test can be performed either by running or walking on an HP Cosmos Saturn treadmill or by cycling on an Ergoline cycle ergometer.
The cycling test can be completed without cycling shoes, or you may choose to use SPD or LOOK Kéo pedals. If you prefer, you may also bring your own pedals. Please indicate in the booking notes which pedal system you would like to use during the test.
To ensure the most reliable test results:
- Avoid hard physical exercise on the day before and the day of the test.
- Avoid alcohol consumption during the 24 hours preceding the test.
- Avoid caffeine for at least 2 hours before the test.
- Bring the running shoes or cycling shoes you normally use for training.
The test is not recommended if you have:
- An acute illness, fever, respiratory infection, cardiovascular disease, or any recent injury or surgery.
- Any other health condition for which maximal physical exertion may not be safe.
If necessary, we will always assess your suitability for the test on an individual basis before testing.
